Leslie Buck, designer of the Anthora, has passed away. A grim day from NYC diner and coffee-cart fans, as Leslie Buck brought us the original "We Are Happy to Serve You" coffee cup. There have been many imitators over the years, but we all know the original when we see it. Thanks, Leslie Buck, for creating a New York icon that not only keeps our cups (and hands) warm in winter, but has gone on to represent NYC to the world.
